The canvas turned blank;
Unexpectedly though.
He searched for the colors,
The radiance of love,
The hues of gaiety,
And her grin
Like the Cheshire cat.
He searched for the colors;
Of their mustard mornings,
Golden afternoons,
And fiery evenings,
That made her eyes glint.
He searched for the colors,
He intended to soak
His words into,
Before he could reveal his love
For her.
He searched for the colors;
Awashed by her tears,
Love lost in oblivion,
With the melting sun,
He lingers around hope
For his love to prevail
The canvas still blank;
Waiting for her smile,
Waiting for the glint of her eyes
Waiting for her faith,
And to love him back.
